The malfunctioning facsimile currently passing for a shower was intent on making his every experience in it a test of pain tolerance.

“See, this is where I get confused. Are we sellouts just because we made the leap at all, or because our music changed to fit some type of social paradigm? It certainly can’t be the latter, as our music, by your own admission, has sounded consistently unoriginal from the start. If it’s the former, I suppose we are guilty, but that’s a ridiculous double standard I don’t even want to get started on.”

“You guys want a copy of the record or something before you take off? I’d give you a shirt, but that’s a lost sale.”
“And giving away the CD isn’t?”

“Does the existence of a similar sounding band completely negate everyone else who comes after? On those same lines, does being ‘original’ mean your band gains instant artistic credibility? As far as I know, no band has adopted the industrial copy machine as a viable musical instrument. If we were to pioneer that sound, are we automatically accepted as ‘good’?”

He did not go as far as putting the phone to his ear and playing out a fake phone call, as some of his lonely peers did. It was difficult enough working up responses and queries for one side of a conversation, much less dynamically generating both. The need for social acceptance was not greater than the depth required to cultivate an imaginary partner worth talking to.

I’ve created a flickr page for all my old concert photography. I’ve got a few sets that still need to be edited, but this should be most of them.
Zach and I spent St. Patrick’s Day (well, more like night, but what’s a few hours among friends) in Milaca, MN, at the invitation of DesiRae.
The highlight of the night was the rousing game of Apples To Apples that Desi and I dominated. The game was practically invented for in-jokes and irony, both of which were amply doled out. Do not turn down any offer to play this game, unless you lack a personality.

Myself, Desi, Meghan and Zach attempting to wind down as the holiday comes to a close.
