des moines trip, day 4 part 1
Today was the shortest day this week in terms of hours spent working on something, but by far took the most out of everybody.
We started off the day scouting out the parking lot location at which we were to shoot an employee appreciation rally. Like most indoor parking lots, it was not well lit. This does not translate well to video, so we had to go grab a lighting kit and play lightbringer until the situation improved. The video turned out pretty well; editing was smooth and went quickly, so not too much stress there
At about 5 p.m. we headed further west into Des Moines to shoot some action at a local farmer’s market. I was actually a little surprised to see how many couples and young people were out walking, taking in the vendors and atmosphere. We found a gentlemen who was willing to talk to us about his wares, and away we went.
By the end of the day, it seriously felt as though we shot, edited, and took feedback on that first video days earlier. Constantly thinking about shots, presentation, composition, and sound levels takes a lot out of a person.
Tomorrow we head into the editing bay early to cut up and work some magic on the footage we shot; then we are headed back to the MN.
