st. patrick’s day
Zach and I spent St. Patrick’s Day (well, more like night, but what’s a few hours among friends) in Milaca, MN, at the invitation of DesiRae.

The highlight of the night was the rousing game of Apples To Apples that Desi and I dominated. The game was practically invented for in-jokes and irony, both of […]it won’t snow where you’re going
Carrie and Gillian somehow tricked us into going to D.B. Searle’s, which actually wasn’t too bad. This followed a rather odd meal at the new La Casita, where you apparently can’t eat in the same area where you get drinks. We also learned that the girls can’t pour from a cocktail shaker to […]

Zach and I paid Rogers, MN, a visit this weekend for Kelly’s birthday. You know it’s a high class affair when we’re the best dressed people there…
A cake only a birthday girl could love…

Pretty interesting times at the St. Michael bar. No idea which bar it was, but they had karaoke. For […]small town, saturday night
Attended yet another birthday extravaganza, this time for Dan’s gf Megan. She felt it imperative that we all go on an unofficial pub crawl of the bars in Belle Plaine (their new town of residence).
We even had credentials.

Lots of good times all around on this one, with many unrepeatable yet quality lines being said. […]team jahnke 2006
Zach and I attended the Twin Cities Marathon yesterday to support our friend and first-time marathoner Megan Jahnke. Megan’s roommmate Tiffany, in a not-so-surprising move, took on the role of event coordinator, even going so far as to make shirts for Megan-specific spectators. Team Jahnke was born.
There are a lot of racers, so […]

St. Cloud Technical High School went into lockdown yesterday after a girl inside the school called the authorities and said she had seen someone with a gun. Naturally, this caused quite a frenzy. I heard it over the police scanner and was immediately sent out with a video camera. Being pretty quick […]

Oh Mr. Seagull, you are so very very far from where you need to be.

Last night Zach and I were enjoying the second disc of Undeclared, when we were were interrupted by a ceasing of electricity. This occurred around 11:28 p.m., and we still weren’t tired enough to sleep, so we jumped in the Prius and explored the city, seeing just how many people (probably) shared our anger at […]
View entire post...mini golf is way awesome
Kelly Jo came to visit Zach and I today, and in the true spirit of Labor Day we decided to go mini-golfing at Summerland. Zach overcompetitiveness netted him a 60 on the day, a score that would tie Kelly. I dominated the field with a 45.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending a wedding in the town of Nebish, MN. You, for good reason, probably haven’t heard of this “town.” It is in far northern Minnesota, away from most culture and/or signs of life.

Normally my travels would not bring me to such a place, but this was a special occasion. […]this is your state, this is your team
Caught the Twins/Royals game last night in Minneapolis with Zach, Dan and Megan. Mike Max basically said there was no way Royals pitcher Mark Redman would beat us last night. Thanks for the jinx, Maxie (Redman shut us out, 2-0). As good as Garza pitched, it really makes you wonder what Soriano […]

We’re editing the final parts of our last video. After lunch we view all the projects, then we call it a conference.

Today was the shortest day this week in terms of hours spent working on something, but by far took the most out of everybody.

We started off the day scouting out the parking lot location at which we were to shoot an employee appreciation rally. Like most indoor parking lots, it was not well lit. […]des moines trip, day 3
Avid Express, I totally dominated you. I still say that Final Cut Pro is a better, more intuitive program for editing video. Avid is basically the same (one just has to find the right buttons and commands to do editing in the Avid environment) though it lacks the pretty interface that I love […]

Outside of the rather uneventful drive, the Des Moines experience is progressing quite nicely.

The hotel (downtown Renaissance Savery) is pretty nice. It’s apparently a historic site, so some of the features are classically dated, in a good way.
Dinner was pretty much amazing. We ate at Centro, an Italian restaurant in the […]des moines trip, day 1 part 1
I’m off to Des Moines for a 5 day conference on video and new media solutions. We get a fair amount of free time, so I’ll be updating this blog with some frequency. We’ve got two high definition video cameras waiting to be used, as well as two new PowerMacs and two absolutely […]

In what can best be described as “expanding my horizons,” I created some multimedia from this weekend’s Bad Boyz Car Show. That it was also mandated by those who sign my paychecks also might have had something to do with it, but I digress. Disclosure: I am not a “car guy.” This […]
